  1. Awesome work mate. Far out the young fella is a chip off the old block. We have to catch up for a fish soon
  2. Hi jenno She was caught right up the back of the bay at the entrance to the creek in about 4 foot of water. I'm guessing she was waiting for the mullet to come out of the creek. We also encountered good numbers
  3. Mate you are wasting your time trying to target squid in the Georges You need to get closer to the heads in cleaner water
  4. Hi All Just sharing a photo of a flatty my brother caught yesterday in Oyster Bay on the Georges on a 100mm black and gold squidgy fish. Caught on the run out and released to make more babby flatties. He was very lucky as he was only using 8lb leader and I reckon 1 more good head shake and she would have been gone. Heath
  5. Wow 60cm Bream We're these beers you had before or after you went snorkelling
  6. Well done Lyn excellent fish. Don't you just love the way they nearly rip the rod out of your hand when they hit your spinnerbait. I hope you get catch of the month with that big girl
  7. Hi All Spent last Sat & Sun fishing Glenbawn with my brother. The weather was perfect in the mornings but really hot during the day and stormy in the afternoons. The middle of the day was spent in the air conditioned cabins watching the cricket. We fished really hard about 5 hours each morning and each afternoon. We caught roughly 10 fish each although my brother caught the better fish and a few more as usual. Nearly all the fish were around the 35-40 cm mark but were really well conditioned, fought really hard and were extremely agressive on the take. A few were caught on the surface in the mornings but most were caught on spinnerbaits off rocky points.
  8. Hi mate I was up there two weekends ago throwing lures around land based and found it really tough. There is a massive dredge doing it's thing half way between the mouth and the bridge.
  9. Hi mate Pretty sure you can not fish there anymore. Another option would be Bare Island
  10. Nice fish mate That is one big healthy looking bass Must have been in a good paddock What lure did she take
  11. I have had a 1000 & 2500 for at least a year and both are dead silent Take it to shimano Taren Point and they will fix it straight away
  12. Well done boys Those bloody bass can be very tempramental in the colder months up there
  13. PNG Black Bass Egypt Nile Perch States Giant Tarpon
  14. Hi mate I stayed at Denarau last July and caught heaps of Jacks on poppers landbased. You can search my report I did on here. If your interested pm me and I can give you some specifics
  15. Yellowtail in the NE corner of Yarra Bay and Squid anywhere around Bare Island
  16. Looks like a cuttlefish to me
  17. Jez Throw the bait away and start using lures/plastics if your land based
  18. Thanks Bassboy I had tried to do as you advised but it only works on lighter style jig heads. I bought mine for fishing deeper water for jews. Stll can not understand why the squidgy boys only put one jig head in the pack ? I would be happy to pay that bit extra.
  19. Hi Mate You are right about the only 1 jig head part I bought a couple of packs and have lost the jigheads Now I have all the remainder plastics that you can not really do much with You can not buy the jig heads seperatly either I wont be buying anymore
  20. G'day Bombora Mate the biggest big eye would of been lucky to be pushing 2kg but still good fun on the bream gear. Most of them were caught at the western entrance at Jack Evans harbour on plastics and small hardbodies
  21. G'day Paul We were casting at feeding fish busting up on the surface. I'm not sure if it was a school of GTs or if he was hanging under a school of something else. This little beach was at the entrance to a little lake and a nice rockwall on the other side. My brother did really well to keep it away from the rockwall and it nearly spooled him twice
  22. Just got back from a 10 day holiday staying at Rainbow Bay. Didn't get as much fishing in as I liked due to surfing drinking and family and friend commitments. A few good fish were caught all landbased in the Tweed. I got two flatties over 60cm heaps of big eye trevs and Taylor but the standout fish was caught by my brother a nice GT caught on a 2500 reel and only 12lb leader on a metal slug and boy did it give him some curry.
  23. I just caught my Harlequin Tuskfish on a surface lure. . I'm off to the Gold Coast tomorrow for two weeks of fishing surfing and beer gardens. Hopefully the Tweed is a bit more fishable than the Georges
