lazz120589
Hey all just a quick report. Headed out on the harbour a few mornings this week . Tuesday headed out of the rocks near south head . Didn't get to much action , started off with a small bream then nothing for a while before hooking up to a nice little salmon. Went out with a mate on his boat early morning wednesday and managed to get a little Bonnito on a popper , wasn't much but definently a good way to start off another day at work ! Few pics attached. rjc123
Nice work mate, its actually a frigate mackerel/small mack tuna rather than a bonito.
Yowie
Photo 3 is not a bonito. Can see a couple of spots under the body, and looks like a mackerel tuna.

mgj
Photo 3 is not a bonito. Can see a couple of spots under the body, and looks like a mackerel tuna. It may well be a Mac Tuna, but the definitive difference is that the Macs have a connection between dorsal fins; and the Frigates have a gap-hard to tell from the angle of that picture. The spots make it more likely to be a Mac Tuna-they both go hard! Mark Edited March 23, 2012 by mgj
