Beach Worms

Hi I was wondering if anyone can tell me where I can try and catch some sand worms. I am looking for a place that is near to the north shore side as I need to be able to gt back home on quick notice. Been to the likes of Manly beach and 40 B and nothing at all. Any advise is welcome.
