jack.w
Hi all, I just recieved my first fly rod a couple of days ago and I was wondering if anyone knows any good flies on the estuary. Also, does anyone know any good spots in the Sydney Metro area (preferably landbased or near a boat ramp) Thanks , Jack
T jack
Hi mate, Good on you for getting a fly rod. It's the best and most fun way to get just about every fish that swims . I have only been using my fly rods for around 4 years and 90percent in the salt. The best flys to use are 1 crazy Charley's in silver/pink.and any thing with pola flash in it. The brim love it 2. Closers in all sizes or as big as you and your rod will Handel . Reds pinks whites flattys love em. 3. Any good prawn patterns you can get . Pro angler in parramatta have the best range and the price of all there gear is very good. Locations. I find any where in narrabeen is a great start . It's got good amounts of flats and weed. If the current is running to hard go to the western end. You will prob get flattys first up but I have got very good bream whiting and Taylor and even a trev. Pitt water is good to if you are lucky you mite get kings on small white patterns. Good luck .
