Fish that disappear of a night

Hey everyone,

I was fishing pier 2 on Saturday afternoon with a mate before heading over to manly. We were getting a few leatherjackets but as soon as the sub went away they disappeared. On the way to manly I told my mate I have never caught a leatherjacket at night or have seen one caught at night. Question is why do they disappear of a night? Also what other fish do you know of that don't get caught much through out the night or at all of a night?

I have caught LJ's at night, but not nearly as many as during the day. Kings are VERY hard to find at night too.. Don't know why but i don't think there's any really easy explanation to this..

Kings were one if the ones that piped into my head. I have read reports on here of some being caught at night but not many. It's not like they just disappear haha.

The leatherjackets sleep once it get dark. No joke if u go diving at night you will see leatherjackets sleeping next to pylons or nets they just stay swimming the same spot same position for the night.

ive been told kings cant see to well at night and thats why they seem to disappear,

all the kings ive heard of caught at night have been in lit up areas.
