Bream?

kongc

Question

Caught this in the Woronora river offshoot off of the Georges river on a prawn. At first I thought it was some kind of bream (I'm quite new to fishing) but when we ate it, the flesh had a much firmer texture and the skin was much more rubbery than any bream I've eaten. It was also very tasty!

Cheers!

Cracking Black bream there mate and a fairly rare catch in sydney although where you got him you'd be in the right area to target them.

Funny they don't fight quite as hard as their yellow fin cousin but still great fun and blacks often get much bigger than yellows. Like hot bite said they largely come from down south and in Victoria, we go down to Mallacoota annually just so we can tangle with them. Spoke to someone the otherday that hit 69 in a session the largest that went 47cm.

Welldone.
