Please note on 27 and 28 October the 2012 Canoe Classic will be run from Windsor to Mooney Mooney ramp.

Competitors leave Windsor at 16:00 on the 27th and paddle overnight to reach De Rubben reserve from 0300 to 1200 on the Sunday morning.

Although the river is not closed on the Sunday morning there will 400 canoes and 600 paddlers moving through the dark and most likely f og too.

If you are going to navigate the river upstream of the Mooney bridges early on Sunday morning please do so with extreme caution.

The ramp at "The Ruins" will be closed until midday Sunday as there will be 1200 support personnel moving in and out during the morning.

The river between Sackville and Windsor is officially closed between 16:00 and midnight Saturday.

Please note on 1st and 2nd December the 2012 Bridge to Bridge Water Ski Race will be run.

The Hawkesbury will be closed to vessels between Sackville and Windsor between 0800 and 1700 Saturday.

On Sunday the river will be closed to vessels between Dangar Island (Brooklyn) and Windsor between 0800 and 1700,

The Super Classboats and skiers achieve 110 knots (205 km/hr) and cannot manoeuvre to avoid boats crossing ahead. Wash and debris is extremely hazardous to competitors, hence the river closures.
