The Rev
Went out this morning with a mate to North Harbour this morning, Friday being my day off. With a southerly blowing and the barometric pressure down we weren't expecting much. With the southerly blowing we went to North Harbour to get some protection - we only have a small tinny. First spot burley'd hard for donuts and after 1 hour decided to try another spot. Moved to the second spot and after a good 40 minutes of burley sent out we were getting ready to move again when the first of 4 trevally jumped on. All were between 31-35cm. Also caught 6 small to medium yakka's - good to see them back for summer. After the bite slowed we slow trolled one back towards Little Manly and had a good strike but no hookup. Stopped off at one of Harbour Markers and caught a Seargant Baker on a sluggo soft plastic! No surface action seen. A fun morning, dinner provide even if it was a bit slow. Looking forward to Summer. rjc123
Good report buddy At least you got a few trevs for the table The Kings are well and truly in the harbour. Quite a few nice fish being caught near the spit and especially the heads. Did you chuck one of the yakkas out as a livie? If not do it next time. The kings patrol the moorings in Nth Harbour quite often during the warmer months! Tom

rjc123
Yeah thought you might have chucked one out... Sooner or later a king will come across it. Could have been a king on the troll.. What lure were you running?

What lure were you running? We got hit slow trolling the livey (yakka) It took the yakka round it's shoulders just behind the hook that was put through it's nose. It was dead when I wound it in with teeth marks all over the body! Next time. We trolled a red / white rapala hard body over at first light but no luck. It's possible it was a jew if you were slow trolling a livie though.... In victoria that's how they fish baits for them... Unlikely considering the area you were at though.
