***** Whitebait/Minnow cage Trap

Hello fellow fishraider, i need of a help, what bait do i use to catch whitebait or minnow what ever those small tiny fish called that you use for bait, can i use dead bream or flathead? do i just put a dead bream into the cage or do i have to chop it? also can i use prawns instead. I am currently planning to catch white bait or minnow at apple tree bay at Mt Kuring Gai. I do land base fishing, i fish on the wharf. Please help me by answering my question thank you so much guys good luck with your fishing
