achjimmy
Hi All, been a while Heading down to Bermagui after xmas for a week. Going to fish the estuary and around the harbour, but wondering what the crowds are like for launching? I know sth coast and xmas can get pretty busy and I don’t mind but I am not interested in 40 min waits at the ramp or having to park 4 km away, rather just stay shore based if that’s the case. Appreciate any advice. hoping everybody has a great xmas, thanks in advance.
Geoff
Jim The main ramp near all the trawlers & charter boats tie up can be very busy. I prefer the ramp near the bridge ,normally easier access & ample parking & good facilities. As to fishing the river it tends to be rather shallow once past the bridge ramp especially at low tide & not very productive. There is a servo accross from the bridge ramp & the guys are a wealth of information , it's worth having a chat. There is no bar at Bermagui so even small boats can get out & in safety to off shore locations. Just avoid coming back at low tide with a strong N/E as the entrance can be rather choppy.
