Sydney Heritage Fleet Welcomes Seniors to James Craig

Sydney Heritage Fleet, home to 5 heritage vessels all over 100 years of age, is putting out the Welcome Aboard sign to Senior Citizens during Seniors Week

The Tall Ship, James Craig is the third icon of Sydney Harbour alongside the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. This magnificently restored ship, built, and launched, in Sunderland, England in 1874, will celebrate her 129th birthday this year. She roamed the world's trade routes from then until she was scuttled and abandoned in Recherché Bay, Tasmania in 1925.

Volunteers from the Sydney Heritage Fleet refloated her in 1972 and towed the ship to Sydney in 1986 for a $30 million restoration. She sailed again in 2001 and is open to the public for guided tours at her berth at Wharf 7, 58 Pirrama Rd. Pyrmont.

To celebrate all Seniors are invited, for a "gold coin" donation, to come aboard this beautiful ship for an inspection tour during Seniors Week.

Duration: 17th to 24th March inclusive.

Visiting Times: 0930 – 1630 daily

Venue: James Craig - Tall Ship, Wharf 7, 58 Pirrama Road, Pyrmont
