Bawley
Hi fellow fishos.. Im heading down bawley point way tomorrow for some fishing with my mate in his 5.5 metre boat... I did ( unfortunately ) hear that there were jackets further south around narooma and montague island..( in closer ) ..can anyone down that way confirm they are further north around bawley offshore... anyone know if there are snapper biting down that way... or whether the flathead drifts are producing... any gps spots most welcome.. tight lines to all... happy easter! Benzeenees
Not sure if the problem is leatherjackets. They tend to nip your terminal tackle off. I heard that the problem is green toadfish. They are worse - they are cutting braid near the surface! They are certainly as far north as Moruya Heads. Two off us got done simultaneously today. They show up on the sounder as a ball of fish between 20m and the surface. If you see that - pull in as quickly as possible - but they'll even get you on the move! The weather forecast for the weekend is terrible - 40kt winds and 7m swells coming in Thursday pm.
