tentonner
Was down two weekends in a row recently, it's pretty tough. First week we caught all our fish on flatlines then the next weekend only got them on leadlines. The whole area needs some rain and or snow to lift the lakes and rivers. tentonner
Yeh it's hard to find a pattern atm, apparently they had some rain down there yesterday so maybe things will pick up. Tassies in the brown trout pattern worked best.
REEF MAGIC CHARTERS
After arriving on Friday afternoon we set up camp on the bank at Buckenderra & quickly headed out for a troll before the wind was meant to pick up. We managed a couple of nice browns on minnows & headed in to bunker down for the night. The winds hit & reached over 60km/hr & it was an interesting night in the swag not sure if we would both be still there in the morning. Saturday saw 20km/hr winds which were predicted to drop off in the evening. We only managed 1 brown that day & had a bbq with some friends that evening that came down to meet us from there farm near by. It was a chilly start to Sunday with the overnight temperature dropping to minus 5 & some thick frost. We had one hit on the tassie on the flatline but dropped the fish & apart from that we didn't see any other fish. We headed home at lunch after a very frustrating trip, it was the hardest fishing I have seen in 20 years fishing the area & the 2 club competitions on & plenty of water traffic may have contributed to poor fishing. However we did speak to a couple of people that had been there for a week & not caught any fish at all. Anyway hopefully it will improve when we finally get some rain down there.
