quochuy
Got good results this month in Dee Why. Last week I got legal size Jewfish and Trevally and earlier in the month got Tailors. Fish a nice gutter and move on to another one if no success after about half an hour.
Sherwinator
Hey Quochuy, Good stuff! I was fishing Dee Why beach 2 weeks ago and got blasted twice by a couple of absolute horses! I'm pretty sure that they were sharks but who knows. I fought one for 15 mins and it pulled over 200m of line off me. I also got a really good size tailor and a good salmon. Was just in front of the pole on the lead up to high tide... Will be back there when my leg gets better. I did my MCL in the surf last week Sherwinator
zaki10
Where abouts is the best place to fish there? Always wanted to try but never really got serious about it, what baits etc is more productive there as well? Thanks, Zac
zen801
Any gutter near the pole is worth fishing if tide etc is right. Mike

Just because I have never been there and I am not familiar with the surroundings. Thanks, Zac
Sherwinator
Zaki, Its literally a 8ft + pole in the sand on the waterline about half way up the beach. I was using tailor strips from a fish I caught and froze the week before. Also used some frozen squid... Sherwinator

reubs
that pole is a bastard of a walk to get to with all your gear in the night.....the walk seems endless haha i once fished there for no takes
quochuy
Hey guys Sorry for late reply. Dee Why is my favorite spot in the Norther Beaches with Narrabeen. Got Tailors, Oz Salmons, Jewfish and Whitings: https://www.facebook.com/gonefishinginoz That pole you guys are talking about seems to be a good spot (according to forums and people saying) but as Reubs said, it's a bastard of a walk and I went there just twice in all the multiple times I went to Dee Why (every week at least and sometimes several times a week 5:00 - 7:00 am). Whitings are starting to show up, you can catch sandworms there too. Best spot are that pole and the corner at the beginning of the beach (near the steps) but its very crowded on weekends, so better go a bit further. From the public toilet there's a path to the beach on the left, don't take that one take the second one, then just go straight down to the beach and find a spot from there to the pole. quochuy
@howdoweplaythis hey thanks for your like on FB. I'm out at DY very often, 5am this week and probably every day. Need some fresh worms as whiting are hanging around. http://www.facebook.com/gonefishinginoz Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
quochuy
@sam I never had success in mona vale, just cat sharks. But you might have luck. What works for me when I spent days withno hooking on pilchards is to go light (fish bag, single rod) and walk along the beach instead of staying at one spot. But I just switched to targetting whitings few days ago. http://www.facebook.com/gonefishinginoz Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

quochuy
I'm not expert in lures, still learning it. For Narrabeen pilies works well for tailors and salmons. For whitings worms are great or you can pump for nippers in the lakes. Lakes and lagoon will be low if the tide is not high enough like today. http://www.facebook.com/gonefishinginoz Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
