Juniorlenny
Can you catch baitfish like yellowtail on soft plastics?

Robofish
I have hooked some thumper yakka on small plastics like Caspar clears wheni i have been throwing at sambos - but to be fair, sabiki or a handline are much more effective. Dave

Yowie
Have caught a few yellowtail on a small metal lure at times, with a bit of retrieve speed, so they will chase a lure if hungry.
SargeRX8
I was fishing for jew and flathead in the hawkesbury using 85mm fish. I caught about 7 yakka. Monster fish taking monster lures. Ive got pix.
Jew Stalker
Down the coast I would frequently spin up slimey macks using small steel lures on a medium paced retrieve. I found that I would get more like that than any bait jig I used from the rocks or wharf.
Jonnyboy
I've also caught yakkas spinning. Also cause them on little squid plastics. Jigs much better
