Gday all, well for those who ventured out this morning hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did! Harbour beautiful and bugger all boats fishing inside. Headed out past the heads and met a lovelly long swell of about .5m, wind nw at about 5kn. Water is very cold between 16~17.8 deg and there were current lines galore and mixed in some of the red algae so obviously the water has turned over and also making it hard to fish as we find the fish dont like tbe blooms.

The jackets are back after giving us a break for a couple of weeks. There are some good sized jackets amongst tbem but u have to go to the 9mile and past to get them also some mowies mixed amongst them. Snapper have been funny lately water has been a bit cold but there are the odd ones around. Caught what we call a chinese flathead but is known as a mud flathead. Head longer than usual, bigger eyes than normal and have more spikes on their head than a porcupine! And completely inedible due to bones. They are generally found over the shelf but this one was caught in 30m off the heads. They get here in the balast tanks of ships waiting to come into port who empty their tanks at sea. Sea had totally glassed off by lunchtime. Thats about it till next time.

Sure was a nice day to be out.

Did you see the acres of salmon busting up at bluefish point?

We also caught a heap of flatties with bigger eyes and bloody sharp teeth, Wont be thumb gripping them again soon! i assumed they were tigers?

No, didnt see the salmon but noticed the bird, saw things busting up on the inside of one of the current lines.

More than likely it was a tiger flatty, bit of a sharper head than eb or marble, also has pronounced red spots. Tasksta yes u soon learn quick not to thumb em!
