Guest mike2153
Hi guys so i just bought a boat and want To catch some flathead around Sydney harbor and middle harbor. I was just wondering of some known spots someone could share with me . And also what sort of rigs should I use for flatties in the deeper water, I was thinking a paternoster rig with a snapper lead on the bottom and a whole pillie? I've caught plenty if flatties off the shore but its a bit different when you in boat. Thanks guys Edited August 31, 2013 by mike2153

tuffy
North Harbour ( Manly Bay ), drift the southern half of the bay over towards the Quarantine side. Also, mouth of the Lane Cove River is holding at the moment as well as up the LCR near Hunters Hill High. That's enough of a start - don't want you using too much fuel !!! Cheers, Tuffy. markgw
Drift the sand flats in Middle Harbour between Grotto Pt and Castle Rock beach. Plastics are good and if using bait, have a running sinker. Dont want the paternoster lead to be the first thing in the flatties' face.
