Ray R
Hi Raiders, today was the maiden trip for my mates new purchase. He bought a second hand Polycraft 4.5m with a neat little 50hp Honda 4 stroke on the back. The little boat went very well with no problems cutting through the choppy bits as she motored along so smoothly. He (Josh) was very pleased and I thought he had done well too and his Uncle Phil was also impressed with the ride and performance. Anyway today was a bit of a learning curve for Josh, he was keen to learn from a couple of old heads. I took him to a couple of spots for a fish, the first was Patonga and then over to the other side around the Hungry Beach area as well as showing him other spots along the way. It was very cool early but soon warmed up and It wasn't too long before we started catching some flatties. They are still a tad quiet at the moment but we did manage to land 14 ranging in size approx 35-50cms, all fish were released today, all taken on plastics and light weight jigheads. Josh had a bit of fun with a small salmon towards the end of our outing, he was glad to get a couple of fish on his first outing. Anyway that was it today, a bit of a new boat testing and learning day but still very enjoyable and good to get a few flatties again.. Enjoy the pics.. Josh's Polycraft Flattie pose A cool start A little lizard for me little fella released A nice flattie for Phil Josh's first fish from his new boat And a salmon to finish off the day Edited September 22, 2013 by Ray R

Paikea
Nice rig and a great bundle of lizards. Looks like a boat that is easy to get around and very stable. I also hear they are a lot quieter than a tinnie? Has to be a bonus fishing in rivers and estuaries. Cheers Paikea
