Hey guys I recently bought a Evinrude Etec 150hp and noticed its using alot of oil and wanted to know if its normal?, every trip offshore takes around 2L of oil and around 150-170L fuel.

what kind of boat / how heavy & how far are you going for that kind of fuel usage ? it does sound a bit extreme but if your 150 e-tec is pushing 4 tonne of boat to Heatons & back I would say its good.

We've got a 115 on my mates boat, and the first 50 hours, during the run in period, the motor runs on a richer oil fuel ratio. It drops down to a normal level after that.

It's a Barcrusher 670c and we go to around Browns troll all day then back in. We've done way more than 50hrs already.

I'll have a chat with my mate today to confirm what we are using in the 115, but aside from that maybe send a message to Huett marine. Those guys know e-tecs a hell of a lot more than me.

yeah I would be either talking to Huey or taking it back to where you bought it. I would be expecting to use 100 litres at the very most. the fuel your using is similar to a 7mtr glass boat with an old V8 inboard.
