AI fella Posted January 2, 2014 Share Posted January 2, 2014 G'day fellow yakkers , myself and my yakkin mate have been fishing most fri nights around the basin,fisherman's bay and Costens point and although we haven't managed any "trophy" catches have managed a feed most trips with one 40cm whiting at the basin being the standout and we've sighted a few thumpers that made our biggest whiting look like a sprat! anyway were going target the garfish wich are everywhere at night especially at the basin and Fisho's bay and see if we can entice a night time King….anyone have tips on gars as livies? we launch at Maianbar once the sun has gone down!!! if anyone wants to join us feel free!! good looking tides tomorrow night Cheers,Gaz Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Never used Gars as livies but they make a great bait on ganged hooks. That's all that we used to use fishing for Taylor in the sixties before Pilchards became available.
