rockfisherman
I've never caught one small enough to use, but probably would given the opportunity Harry Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Guest Aussie007
without a doubt if its fair game they'll take it kings are opportunistic feeders, just think of the boils from bonitos can u imagine the kings lurking below? if u can find the tailors i'd give them a go too
crusher87
I've heard that mac tuna are gun bait for big kingies that's why I assumed bonito wouldn't be too bad. The only problem is that you need tuna tubes to keep them for any length of time. I'm going to troll small metals around the cliffs and once I get a small tailor, bonito or salmon it's going straight in. We will be using 24kg gear so I hope it's enough! filthmonger
Have you seen Extreme boats Big Angry Fish? They use huge salmon as Kingy live bait and have great success!!
healy39
Good luck chasing big kings around Jervis bay there's plagues of undersized kings being caught but not much over the legal limit
macca02
Kings LOVE bonito. Biggest problem is keeping them alive for a good amount of time. Pin them really lightly and when you catch them, try and bring them in as fast as you can, have everything setup ready to go and get it straight back in the water. They are nowhere near as hardy as fish like yakkas, but they will tempt big kings.
Scratchie
Agree with macca! Bonito are gun king bait. Try bridle them but as said as fast as you can. Balloon floating is the preferred option when live baiting with Bonnie's! Good luck! Cheers scratchie!!!
