South Coast - JB

Hi,

Last Friday night went fishing down south after work, We fished off HMAS Creswell in JB not far from Murrays beach.

The night started slow, Plenty of bait around yakkas, slimeys and squid. Caught several Port Jackson sharks and lost what we believe was a 1m jewfish which was hooked on live slimey.

It was a strange night, saw a pod of dolphins, a very big seal which almost took our livey and caught one of the biggest cuttle fish I've ever seen in the flesh.

Anyway's hope everyone else that went fishing actually caught fish.

Those big Cuttlefish are awesome, not something that you would want to meet on a dark night.

what was it like bringing in that cuttle

just abig dead wait then you feel a pulse and realise your on to a monster

bad luck on the jewwie (if it was) but sounds like an interesting trip

Fished off the navy base?

Do you need a permit or something to fish there?

No permit required, My cousin is in the Navy and he get's us onto the base.
