Managed to drag yourself away from Lake Mac for a fish elsewhere  :biggrin2: .  Nice fish  - caught on what ??

It was a while ago but i caught it off the breakwall with cabbage, it was scarce as you no what. I was scrambling over the rocks with long nose plyers to pinch off the stumps, i hooked up on two others but the hook pulled. Not to worry it was a good session. :thumbup: Good luck mate Norm.

Thats what BLACKfish are called. Always have ...always will!

I don't really think the luderick takes offence, and if you eat him fresh, he won't be suing you. :074::074:

No slur is intended when you hear that talk depending on where you are in the country "Luderick" might be called luderick, blackfish, darkie, black bream and probably a few more that I haven't heard.

Good to see someone still calls them blackfish. Thats what they are to me

yep they are still called that to me too

PC has alot to answer to and i would hate to see it get into fishing

blackfish are still blackfish to me and mahi mahi are still dolphin fish too ohh and a mowong is still a mother in law too :1prop:

last thursday i scored my first luderick on a soft plastic too

went about 40cm or soo and 1kg caught on a 2" berkley shrimp in molting

still swimming today arfter giveing me the fun and although it is yet another fish off the list for soft plastics for me i still am chaseing that jew fish on a softie :wacko:

I swear to God this is true: I'm walking back from a bream fish and caught a black fish among them , cleaning it at Wategos and a 6ft4' black guy, {English accent , human fridge} walks up to me and asks "what kind o fish is that mate ??" :1prop::1prop:

Turns out he's a fisho.

On that occasion it was definately a Luderick.
