No temperature reading

Hi Raiders,

I have a Simrad NSS7 sounder and recently the temperature reading dropped off the display. I talked to Simrad who were very helpful in talking me through how to update the unit and apply the correct transducer settings. Still no temperature reading though and I now understand that the transducer may be faulty - just my luck - two weeks out of warranty!!!!!!

To be honest I don't really want to rip the transducer out when everything else works and wonder - is there any other easy way I can rig up a standalone water temperature reading setup?

Just replace the transducer if it really bothers you. I dod that on my last boat. But i also lost the viewing ability of the sounder. So i guess i had more reason to replace.
