Powerbait Trout Fishing

Hey troutboy i have recently bought some rainbow powerbait and i was wondering how you rig it up(sinker, float etc.) and if you fish in reeds or open area with it

Does anybody use any powerbait in nuggets or the container how you make it yourself. If you do could you please tell me how you fish woith it e.g slow retrieve

powerbait is best fished with the rod left in a holder, the rig that i use consists of a pea size ball sinker or small splitshot on the mainline to a small swivel,4lb flouro or mono trace about 40cm long to a small size 8 to 10 hook.Scrape some powerbait out of the jar and mould a ball about the size of a marble, embed your hook in the bait making sure your hookpoint is slightly protruding from the bait. Cast it out and place your rod in a forked stick or rod holder setting your rod as horizontal to the ground as possible, if it is windy loosen your drag so the fish can run with the bait or if it is still just open the bail arm.9 times out of 10 the trout will hook itself but it doesnt hurt to let the fish run a bit first. good luck!
