Football fun

The yellowbelly footballs came out to play in the Cudgegong again today.

I hit my PB first up with a 57cm fish. It gave a great fight on 6 lb and then sat nicely for a quick pic.

I moved along the bank and on the first drop was on again with a 55 cm model.

This was quickly followed by a 47cm that looked like it only needed 'one more pea' to split at the sides.

Another 47 cm followed. This thing had lots of spirit and as I tried to remove the trebled it kicked. This caused one side of treble to lodge itself to the bend of the hook. I had a minor issue with feeling ill at the sight of the embedded hardware. So I grit my teeth and pulled. I donated more red stuff than the fish did today!

To cap it off, I nailed another 57cm fish that did not give in easily!

Five fish and I was stoked. The wind blew up quick and I left them to swim another day. Cheers.

Lud Angler: PM sent

Yowie: I tried a small one once and it was okay. However, I have been told by many people that the bigger fish are very fatty and not the best tasting, so I haven't tried any since then.

Anyway, I prefer C&R on the native freshwater fish.

Fair enough, might have to try and catch one myself one day.
