portstar Posted November 28, 2014 Share Posted November 28, 2014 It is my 30th in March next year and on my bucket list is to pick up a Thumper Barra, so instead of the 30th thinking of chasing monster barra. I live in Sydney and would not get more than 5 days off work and have at least 1 mate who would join me. So my question is what would be my best option for cost effectiveness, and chance to get this thumper fish. Option 1: drive up, swag it and fish the dams on the bass and barra trail, from the kayak. For this I would need to get heavier gear. Option2: fly up to Bundaberg stay at a dam and go out on charters. option 3: Fly to Cairns? And go out on charters. Any other ideas would be appreciated.
