philip_the_fisher Posted September 13, 2005 Share Posted September 13, 2005 Hey guys, i was wondering what you all think on which kind of rod is more durable flexible and catches more fish, i think graphite for smaller fish as you can feel the bites better and stronger fiberglass rods as the fish get bigger. If you're looking for a 12ft surf or rock fishing rod then probably fiberglass is the way to go, being more durable. bung Posted September 14, 2005 Share Posted September 14, 2005 fibreglass is much more durable, graphite is lighter and more responsive. i'm a fan of glass/graphite composite rods as they give the benefit of durability with reduced weight, especially with the longer rods that i have. most of these have a composite butt section with a glass tip.
