Custom blackfish rod

A mate is making me up a custom blackfish rod which I'm pretty excited about!

It's 10'6" one piece, 4 wrap for harbour fishing.

I know he told me what blank it is but cant find that right now .. .

It's an Excel Composite CR4126 and now has grips, reel seat and thin layer of epoxy on wrapping for protection while guides are done.

Im making a custom blackfish rod out of a snyderglas mag bream blank as an experiment just to see how it goes.

the once piece will provide great action (i had to opt for the 2 piece for myself for transport reasons )

I have a rebuilt magbream 2piece 12' courtesy of the same mate. It's a beauty.

Looking forward to the one piece.

Have dad's old split cane rods and an old solid fibreglass, both of which are 3 piece. Also an old 2 piece 10' 'noodle' that still goes pretty good!

Looks great, so hard to find a decent off the shelf blackfish rod these days, especially if you prefer the open mounts.
