rexaway1234
We headed out yesterday targeting marlin in close. Stayed inside 60 ftms all day running from Botany up to the harbour but all we found ourselves doing was pulling in countless numbers of fat striped tuna. Marked quite a few marlin holding down about 30m around the peak but couldnt get them to come up and only saw few flying fish all day Water looked great 25 degrees and there was a hard blue green zone transition especially out front of botany that we went back and worked Just about 20 mins before pulling lines in big hit on rigger lure and spool starts emptying line and spinning off its axis but run didnt last that long so knew wasnt a marlin once lines were cleared it came in reasonably fast so thought it was a dolly till we saw colour we came to within an inch of losing it at the side of boat when it took off for NZ again during gaffing but eventually hit the deck....just happy we did not get snipped off as it had the rear hook of double shackle in end of its nose keeping us clear Great BBQ steaks coming up! PS Have my required item in the photo ( shoes) for entry into catch of month

boattart
Damn, two in a day! Might be few more out there. I remember may 12 or 15 years back getting 5 in a day off Sydney...Unfortunately it's taken that long to get the next one...and yes very good feed.
