Forster fishing

Hey fellow Raiders,

I'm planning to hire a small size boat during the easter break at forster. I'm not familiar with the area and not quite sure where to fish. Could anyone give me some tips or advice on where to go or where to fish. I wouldn't mind catching a kingy or even some whiting or flatties if that helps.

Cheers

Hi mate, a few weeks ago I hired a boat up there for a fish. First time on the water there. Was advised to try the Breckinridge channel for flatties a bit further south from where you hire the boats. Didn't have much luck though. Best luck we had was out in the paddock, finally managed a keeper and a couple of just undersized fish. Sorry I can't offer much more than that. Beautiful place to be on the water though. Good luck!

Marine Rescue on the Forster Breakwall sell a detailed map of the lake. Costs about $10 and is very detailed.

Here are a few spots to try.

Forster or Tuncurry Breakwalls It is best to fish this spot on the turn of the tide otherwise you will lose a lot of gear.
Fish Co-op Wharf
The Paddock
Stone wall
Hells Gate
Cut Island

Stockyards
Fish the rising tide, through lures or fish with baits around the oyster leases
The Step
Forster Keys
