Mounting Berley Bucket

Ok guys a bit of advice on mounting a berley bucket on the back of the boat.

What height should it be mounted at ??

That is the bottom of the berley bucket in relation to the bottom of the boat.

Why mount it- I use a small, very old spin dryer unit that hangs on a transom bracket. I freeze the bucket after each use.

If your freezer is large enough, why not - and you could probably add all sorts of scraps between outings

If you have a pod you can buy a maxi bracket and bolt it and take it off when required these products are a Quinnie brand but fit all other brands as Ive installled one on my Ally craft

The only thing is there not cheap $200 /$300

It does make sense to be able to pull the bucket back off the boat to empty out the scraps at the end of an outing. Bending over to put your hand in amongst it is not a lot of fun. Mine has an arrangement whereby you pull out a rod that goes through the bracket and the burley bucket, secured at one end by a cotter pin.

Pulling it off and refitting it is a breeze.
