Kayak Fishing around The Spit

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am keen to get into Kayak Fishing with a recently bought new fishing kayak, The spit is probably one of the more practical spots but i am able to travel elsewhere. I have heard about good fishing spots on either sides of the bridge and i have attempted to fish these spots but i was left with a donut! Would anyone be keen on sharing a few decent spots as i am having trouble finding the fish. I do not expect any secret spots but anything that will put myself in good chances of catching a good one is appreciated.

Cheers,

Hello mate,

I Was out there on Sunday morning - got some marks and a couple of fish, but it's pretty quiet still. Looks like it's ready to go, though.

The pelagics do exist, but it's often hard work on the kayak because you have to find them and then keep up with them - they're not known for staying in one area.

I tend to prefer fishing sugarloaf bay and up around tunks - bit quieter and you can get stuck in to other things more easily if the kings etc. aren't around.

Cheers,
Razz
