Fishing from Spit Bridge wharves?

I was just wondering, are any of the wharves around the south end of the Spit Bridge legal to fish from? I've attached a photo of the wharves I mean.

I don't think they are mate as they are all private marinas, such a shame haha

Yeah, it's really annoying. The wharves make it so much easier to catch yakkas, plus mean I won't get sand in all my gear.

In your picture if you travel down (south) to the left there is a rowing club. there are two pontoons there. I think fishing is OK from one but not the other.

There were now "No fishing" signs on both of the pontoons near the rowing club. We used to use the one which didn't have a sign.

Bummer. Probably because of idiots leaving rubbish there. Unfortunate when the majority have to suffer because of a selfish minority

Try Balmoral wharf which is quite close to the spit

Yo, Zoom out on your maps and go to 'Fresh Ketch' around the corner is a wall. Run out tide, bait on a hook and you'll have bream, tailor and yakkas.

Thanks mate, I'll definitely try that next time I go there. The area you're talking about is along Parriwi Road road south of Fresh Ketch, right?

If you fish there - dont forget that half of Sydney's sewerage is flowing under your feet through the NSOOS Syphon. Pretty amazing structure, someone definitely put some thought in to the way that was made.

Instead of turning right onto Parriwi Rd, make a less sharp turn and go into the functiin centre carpark and head parallel with Parriwi Rd. 

Park up hard against the wall so you dont piss off the people that run the sailing club.
