I have no idea which brands to look at, I have used an electric one whilst trout fishing in NZ and that made it pretty easy, so electric would be my preference provided it is affordable. Rick T Posted August 3, 2004 Share Posted August 3, 2004 Depends what u call affordable. :confusuion: My Scotty downrigger cost $400 and it was a cheap as I would go for quality saltwater equipment.
