kanTec Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 Having read few warnings over the past few days with regards to floods and debris, I was wondering if it's safe to launch the boat in Windang near Reddal reserve, I never used that boat ramp but a friend recommended it. Any thoughts? Cheers
noelm Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 Yeah, no problems, the lake is pretty dirty, but safe to go boating.
noelm Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 Just to add, the ramp on the northern side (Windang) gets a fair old cross current when the tide is running hard, the one of the south side (Lake Illawarra) is OK though, Oak Flats ramp is good, but very shallow close in, and so is Tallawarra ramp.
kanTec Posted March 26, 2021 Author Posted March 26, 2021 Thanks for the advise Noelm... I'll give it a go most likely, muddy water shouldn't ruine the trip 😁 I went once to the ramp on the northern side and wasn't able to launch because there is no proper warf to tie the boat, I have to do it alone as wife not comfortable driving the car with a trailer.
noelm Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 There is a jetty on the North side, and a little sandy bit to pull your boat onto if it's not busy.
