mattycoss Posted December 27, 2005 Share Posted December 27, 2005 hows it going going camping on lake mac in a few days and have never been there before so dont no wot to expect will be going off land close to where we're staying in belmont, might hire a boat at some stage too but predominantly going off land is the fishing around the area pretty good there this time of year? also we were wondering if we would be able to go prawning, altho i have no idea how to do that ive never gone prawning before.......also would it be worth setting a few crab traps 4 sum blue swimmers? sorry 4 the naivety i just have no idea also, thinking of going fishing with my brother at the narabeen lakes tomorrow near the camping ground there, is the fishing there any good? and would it be worth setting some crab traps there too? thanks heaps team hope everyone had a great christmas matt Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Suggest fishing near the mouth where the lake connects to the sea. Best baits would be yabbies or blood worms. Best of luck... EDIT: There seems to be some conjecture about the legality of the use of "witches hats" on this site - For sake of clarity and to avoid a fine, if you want to use them check with the local Fisheries office.
