Morning surf fishing this weekend - 30/10 - 31/10 - Surfers Paradise

Hi all,

I will be heading down to the Gold Coast this long weekend, and am hoping to have a crack at beach fishing. I have fished off the beach in the past, one or two times, but it wasn't a serious session.

I am now armed with a new Alvey combo, and this is the first time that I will be using this setup. It looks easy enough to cast, but I am confused with the plethora of rigs to use, and also how to read the beach for the different channels, banks, etc.

If anyone is having a fish down on the beach this Saturday and Sunday, and you are happy to give me a few pointers, that would be appreciated.
