TheFoosh
Hi All, Does anyone have any tricks to restore spinnerbait blades that have tarnished? I have a few with dull blades that I want to restore without using chemicals etc that will deter the fish.
Green Hornet
I shine up my old chrome lures with either Autosol or Brasso and they come up better than new. If there’s any green corrosion, a quick soak in vinegar will get rid of that. If you’re worried about the smell give them a wipe over with hot water and even smear a little scent on them if you’re meticulous. If you don’t want to use chemicals, give them a buff with ultra fine, 0000 grade steel wool. Edited January 29, 2023 by Green Hornet
frankS
Simplest and cheapest way to restore any metal, stainless chrome etc is simply get a sheet of alfoil and a bottle of coke OR pepsi. Make a small wad of alfoil pour a small amount of coke onto the metal and rub with the alfoil. You will be amazed at the results, also great way to polish bimini frames.
