Bastard Red Cod ... Plus other common names I believe. Very similar to the Common Ling (Largetooth Beardie) 

Difference between the two is the "Common" one has white edging around the fins and the "Bastard" has dark edging around the fins.

Oh and also there's the Red Cod but they have a dark spot at the base of the Pectoral fin.

Well, that's what I recon but always happy to be corrected.

Rock Ling, (common name) not to be confused with the deep sea Ling that is a popular eating fish. Those are slippery horrible things, and often poop out a concrete like “stuff” that will stain gelcoat if not washed off straight away. They are very common when fishing on the bottom over rough reef or land based rock fishing.
