Trout season is open...

So went fishing with my mate at a local river.

Started off slow, using spinners, so I decided to change to a baby rainbow trout imitation minnow. 

Kept on casting, and this browny came and took my lure at my feet, from out of the weeds.

It fought quite hard, and I had a few stressful moments with line management to get it in.

Landed it, and we were always keeping one for a feed, so this one it was. A really healthy brown trout, that actually hadn't spawned yet.

None others for the session, but a really nice way to start off the season.
