arpie
The breakwall produces, but you need long rods & nets & be prepared to lose lots of tackle, unless you fish the change of the tides - when you will still lose tackle. Jewies, flatties & bream & Blackfish are mainly caught from the breakwall - you need good rock climbing skills too, as the rocks ARE nasty & some are loose after big seas. What sort of fishing were you planning on doing? What gear are you bringing? The beaches have been producing, if you want to fish with beach worms or mullet/other bait ........ around the lake there are some good areas - the Keys have some good spots for bream & flatties & blackies. A lot of the sea wall up the lake in Tuncurry is off limits just now as they are making it into a rockwall, not a 'concrete' was as it was in the past - so none of the jetties near the bridge can be used just now (unless they've finished the work in the last week, which I doubt!) Down Taree St (on the left ...... you will see the water) or right down the end, you can fish from shore & have a good chance of catching bream, flatties & blackies. It's been VERY windy here in the last couple of weeks & today has been a howler - white caps everywhere, on the ocean and the lake. Take a drive - and check these areas out! cheers Roberta
