  1. 8th jan been waiting for this rain to stop for a fish on the hobie. it was a sunny day with only a few clouds here and there, thankfully its a full run out in the morning with dirty water. launched at connells point in the morning and peddled straight to a few spots i've had success in the past. all fish caught casting chubbies towards structure 0.4 - 2m in depth released about 10 more and got bricked by one big bream. biggest flathead going 66 and bream going 38 WHICH had a chubby inhaled with bib and trebles crushed. A first for me to see a whole chubby inside a bream's mouth as they usually hit the tail. total damage was 2 chubbies costing $40 it was a glorious day. it is rare to have fish after cast after cast and enough to feed 3 families.
  2. SO glad to hear your ok. before it was jet skis and kayaks now its boats and tinnys
  3. the whole system is quiet for some reason... dont know why but im going to blame the desalination plant, i remember it was so good in the old days
  4. nice report. watsons bay is pretty the mouth of the harbour, would you still follow the portion guideline for dioxin? or its too far to worry about.
  5. not really mate, unless you count colouring in your lures with permanent markers/ nail polish... lol nah i stick to the size 8, slightly a bit bigger, better hookups.
  6. i love casting ZX for flatties and under schools of tailor for scavenger fish... one of my best sessions was on casting ZX40 underneath a school of small tailor. after a bit of researching i started to make my own assist hooks. palomar knot to the split ring 20lb braid, coloured with red marker snell knot to gamakatsu octopus hook, size 8 brown elastic string from ebay, [use for jewelery] 1 turn uni knot can be used for the feelers to the split ring, as well as the legs. below is DIY , looks exactly the same!
