deano having withdrawals are we, Me to, been hitting penrith lakes every tuesday (only day your allowed) caught zero, read up on winter dam bass, cause there warm blooded they slow right down and have to adjust your fishing to suit, just got a pm about fish gathering at lake lyles dam wall, could be bass waiting to go over the dam wall either way they have got one thing on there mind right now and are hard to catch.

nice work deano, some bumper bream up there this time of year. The water is always like glass and the current runs much slower than the hawkesbury,Never did much good in smiths but the old man has a few stories, the hairltail get up there ,not getting a head start for the social are we?
-
agree with scratch accept all my decent jews have been caught on a simlpe prawn whilst not targeting them as Galini mentions, but have seen many landed on bigger baits,Thats why they are the holly grail of the fish , they aint easy to catch and big fish dont get big cause there stupid many hours brings results keep trying!
-
thx for all the advise raiders,fire-line sounds like its got everybody's vote,so say for instance i spooled my bass outfit with 4lb or 6lb braid what size leader would i use?And could that be the reason why hairtail are so hard to come buy?
-
ok so if two identical outfits, one spooled with braid the other with mono the braid will outcast the mono yeh ? And if so are we talking meters or center meters?
-
absolutely beautiful Royce, geez the browns are really brown down there,They apparently run before the rainbows yeh?
-
Call me stupid but when fishing with braid do you always have a mono leader and if so why ?
-
Call me old fashion however all but one of my rods are spooled with mono. The last time i tried to use braid as about seven years ago,I had trouble casting it, tying knots and tangles galore. Now it seems everyone uses it from sweet to salt,Am i the only one stuck in the past, they make some some pretty good mono these days? If i was going to go and buy some braid could any raiders advise me on a good and not to expensive braid cheers!
spencer Sunday.
