  1. Congrats on a cracking silver slab that's going to be tuff to top . My first went 1.28 meters and 25kgs 12 years ago and I've come nowhere near topping it . But that's what feeds the obsession good luck bet your well and truly hooked on Jews now . Congrats again

    A great day!

I just got back from a 10 day trip at conjola scored a heap of solid whiting using poppers for the first time ranging from 30cm to 44cm real fat too . I love the lake I've been holidaying their for 9 years now and it always produces quality fish and always fat their is so much bait in there . Congrats on a few great feeds from a great fishing location for the whole family
  4. You can get mounts that slip into your rod holders should solve your problem

    Fish ID please

Good livey for big flatties probably because they croak and make a bit noise once pinned with a live bait hook
  6. Well done on the Jew mate and bad luck on the lost fish . It's those bust ups that make us keep going back . What system were you fishing
  7. Great effort to the crew on that boat and congrats beno on a fish of a life time .
  8. Mate just got back from lake conjola and can tell you that the reports are true the lake isn't open to the ocean at the moment . And the fishing , well we found it pretty tough going .with no tide and a lot. Of fresh water in the system we really had to work hard to find a feed ,but the fish we did find were good size and fat , we got 8 flatties between 51 and 65 cm over 5 trips on he water all on plastics. The plastic that did the trick was the ever popular bloodworm wriggler in 100 mm with plenty of s factor . Also lost 3 real big fish on live baits (mullet) due to pulled hooks . The flatties all come from lake berringer though which is a shoot off of lake conjola it has a shallow entrance but accessible with a tinny . If you have nav lights on your tinny it's worth having a troll of the main lake about an hour before sunset with some deep divers (x wraps) or similar of about 10 to12 cm , we did this a few nights and it wasn't hard to find a few tailor up to a kilo . I also lost a huge tailor after a 20 metre run and some aerial antics I've caught tailor in the lake up to 65 cm but this this would have dwarfed them . conjola is a great place to holiday Even if the fishing can be tuff at times . Are you staying at conjola lakeside van park ? Hope this helps. Good luck
  9. Mate not to many people get to catch a 90 cm flathead I'd say that makes up for your lack of fish . Well done on a great sized croc any pics ?
  10. Cracking fish every bit 20 -25 kgs I pulled a fish that went 128cm a few years back from the rail bridge and it weighed 25kgs so your mates fish has to be some where around that in my opinion great fish none the less well done to him

  15. First ever time I launched my boat ,after snaking my way sheepishly down the old fore shore drive ramp which was packed at the time, I pushed the boat off the trailer only for the boat to bottom out hard on the ramp . Lesson learnt trailer needs to be submerged very embarrassing
  16. Mate years ago I used vanish in 14 and 17 lb and found the same thing happened . I found the vanish to be quite stiff and when tying knots in tended to burr the line as well as twisting up. I fixed the problem by changing brands of leader and haven't had a problem since . I run seaguar up to about 20 lb and black magic for my heavier gear . My 2 cents cheers Ace

    fussy kings

hi finin this sounds like a good idea but the fish we caught from the school on the surface was under size . dont think fisheries would be to kind seeing an under size fish tied up to the back of the boat . we found the bigger fish by down rigging . just food for thought . cheers ace
