  2. That is an absolute ripper mate!! i'd give up every last king i've caught over the years for a fish like that...well done it won't be long till no no no is stalking you around MH
  3. na, we were in a white hull 4.5 barracuda side console... you know, the sexy one!! looks like there are a few bluefins getting around the bay
  4. i think we may have saw you guys just off malabar, can't quite remember if it was a blue hull, but we did see a boat pulling lasers, and then procede to jig straight under the boat once the fish were found. we had a number of kings follow lures off malabar... but no takers we were also in a bluefin

  7. I'm wanting to install some LED lighting in my open tinny, and need some help. i want to make sure that i install enough lights to adequately light the boat. Bias has a round 80mm light with 3 LED bulbs for $25, BLA has similar with 4 LED bulbs, and i found one on ebay with 9 bulbs. my tinny is 4.5m with a side console and front casting deck. i was thinking to install the light(s) in the step leading up to the casting deck facing back towards the stern. has anyone installed such lights? how many will i need to give sufficient light? also, are they waterproof? cheers, Sluggo
  8. here's our effort from the bay, easter monday. good when a plan comes together, targetted trevors, and caught plenty. just as many were released.

  10. are you serious !!??!! how the hell do you get a deckie like her? what's the secret? you might find yourself with a floatila of boats around you this weekend
  11. looks like you had a tough day out there dan...
  12. yep, certainly was a great day on the bay today chris!! after releasing 20 or so rats thus far this season, we finally managed to land our first legal king ...actually 5 of them, with another 3 going back in the drink the first couple were skull dragged on the heavier gear, but we then downgraded to lighter gear and had a little more fun. kingy cutlets on the bbq for the next couple of weeks on a more sour note, the boaties who frequent the port botany ramp have become even more incompetent...if thats possible? i had words with a guy yesterday who had me waiting for 20 mins at the top of the ramp while he backed the trailer down, then started to get all his gear in order...and a similar situation today. waiting 20 mins to get in and another 20 to get out really does get the blood boiling!! anyways, im off to fire up the bbq and throw a few cutlets on...have a great new year all Sluggo.
  13. cheers Ken, ill be on the water tomorrow, still tossing up between the bay and harbour... my strike rate in the bay is much higher, but these harbour reports are awfully tempting. ill be in a Bluefin Barracuda, give us a yell if you see us...thanks again!

    Wat To Do

i was speaking to the SeaTow rep at the boat show a couple of months ago, and i asked him this very question. he said that this topic had come up and that they would be looking at possibly offering a trailer service....guess they'll have to change their name to Sea/Land Tow
  17. Can anyone provide info on this reel? where does it fit in the Daiwa spinning reel food chain? i have a crap load of reward points on my credit card, and this reel combo'd with a procaster X is the only fishing related item available in their shopping list. not that i need another spin outfit, but if i dont use the points, the wife will !!
  18. Despite the rain, wind and very messy condition outside, the reports of kings were too tempting so out we went... it wasn't long before we had our first double hook up, then our second shortly after biggest went 59, and even with some gentle massage we were unable to stretch out another cm back inside the bay for a flatty spin, in short, spun for 2 hours for one flatty at 62cm. not a bad morning, although frustrating as the kingy tally is now at 10 and still looking for a legal fish.....
