  1. Bought a Wilson Livefibre 10 1/2 foot 6kg from freddies for Barbara, used it at Coffs a month or so back, loves it. Light as a feather. and loads realy well. It also has a slightly shorter butt than some we looked at, which suites barbara!

It is matched with a shimano 6500 baitrunner, 14 lb fireline, 15 lb vanish trace.

Casts an absolute mile! the fireline gives it great strike power over long distances and it's very sensative!

The 6500 is probably overkill with 6 kg 4500 would be better!

By far the best 6 kg outfit i have seen!

Me, I have my trusty Butterworth mt7144L and my Alvey650C5!

Her outfit is so good, I could be tempted to change?

Na not yet! Then again she did outfish me!

  2. Go to 3.85 if you can, a little bigger and heaps more stable!

Stessel edgetracker is 2.00 wide and Quintrex explorer 1.8

The 3.7 boats are only 1.45 to 1.52 wide that extra width makes the 3.85's a lot more stable! The edgetracker is far more expensive, I like the Quinnie!

Depends if you want a car topper or are going to trailer it? The 3.85's are too heavy to car top!

  3. In Choppers discussion on speed, mention was made to sitting lower in the water and getting more hits. The trend towards high casting platforms and pedistal seats often worried me in regards to spooking fish in shallow water. I have found that the lower you are to the water, and the less obvious you are in the boat, the more fish you get take the lure close, and often next to the boat. this also applies to tailor down at Bobbin Head. Having a Bream smash the lure right at the boat, is heart stopping. I love it!
