Porter has been pronounced dead tonight, so sad for motorsport and his family

good stuff on the bass mate, may i ask where on the river you were? landbased? i also fish the nepean quite alot and havnt had any luck as yet this season as i found the water still a touch too cold.
i was in my dingy fishing down the western bank approx 300m south of the freeway bridge drifting down towards the weir, casting lures under the trees

Search ebay for "trailer lock" there are some decent ones on there for about $30 inc postage, they simply lock on the coupling so it cannot be mounted onto a towbar, if you have a bit more $$$ then definatly a KLAMPIT is the go but i think they are around $200

Hi Raiders,
Nice and early start saw some nice size bass along the fringes. I think about 7 in total, but at about 8am my lucky black and orange cricket fell victim to a snag and i think it was an omen because i didn't seem to catch a thing after that. Then the ski boats began rolling up so i was off home for a quiet one. A nice morning on the water. Left the camera in the car so i didn't get any snaps of the fish sorry.

Hi Raiders
My Name is Mick and I am a brickie,
I love fishing but don't get to do enought of it due to work and not owning a boat. I caught my first fish on a sp this week and my life couldn't be any better. I live in Greystanes, I am 22 and also enjoy racing motocross. My racing number is 309. hence the name (mick309) I love this site and have learned so much from all of you. I look foreward to fishing alongside some of you in the future.

Nice one Mick! May there be many more to come.
I hope you didn't put your reel in the sand as your photo suggests! Noooooo!
Keep up the good work and keep the reports coming!
hell no! my reel was on my backpack

After 2 unsuccesful efforts I thought i may never catch a fish on a soft plastic lure but i took these two little flatties today at Boambee Creek. Thanks to all raiders who supplied me with some good advice. Needless to say I will be spending alot more time fishing this way as it is highly addictive.

Mrs Swordie,
Im not going to be able to make it tonight but would like to get my hands on some, Whats the best way to do that????
I am away at the moment how can I get one of these?
-
Are soft plastics, eg squidgies effective at night or only the day?
-
Can anyone tell me if it matters if your leader is smaller than your mainline? I have some 6lb leader but my reel has 10lb braid on it, can i use it or do i need to downsize my mainline to fish that light?
-
I don't suppose anyone would consider 9 holes and drink on a sunday at the golf club?

High tide is best for depth, but low tide is OK. Waves are more troublesome. Are you thinking of heading out there today?
Flattieman.
No, I went out and brought a rod and reel today I didn,t have any beach gear, I am going up the coast in two weeks, it doesn't look like i will get a chance to give the new gear a run before then unless i get rained out at work
-
Is the tide important when beach fishing?
-
Thanks heaps, I'll post my results when I get back
Bass Record Perhaps?

didn't measure him but the lure is a 50mm grasshopper and he wasn't much longer than that
