  1. I hope I can pull a rabbit out of my hat on both days rather than end up pulling a hair out of my arse on one of the days. All advice and encouragement greatly appreciated. Cheers The Captain Just wondering, do you need a recreational fishing license for this activity? Good luck Captian in your adventures. Looking forward to your report! Cheers Riggy
  2. boccman. Great fish!! I fish LCR today from the yak around the top mangroves. Plenty o bream and even more flatties and a monster ray that took 10 mins to surface (thought it was a jew!!). The fishing has really improved in this system over the last few weeks. Am looking forward to more great sessions!! Riggy
  3. kevvie, I am all for sharing locations and further information. Having said that I did not want to tick anyone off by naming the location and starting another debacle. Naming good spots I have fished is not a concern for me as much as it is for others. I find there are alot of important factors to consider when targeting fish, not just relying on location. Anyway I hope to get me a few more bigger fish soon. Cheers, Riggy
  4. Where are you fishing mate? Every day is a day off for me at the moment ( in between jobs!! ) Cheers Riggy
  5. Nice call mate!! Lately it has been feeling as cold as Antartica given the amount of fish caught!! Just about to find a new hobby until I found that little pup! Cheers Riggy
  6. G'day all Had a nice little shorebased session with some mates today. Came up with this nice little jew. Forgive me for not saying where it was as a certain recent post has discouraged me from naming the location. I wanted to post it with a picture anyway to let you know that there are a few around if you are willing to put in the time. I like the fact that when you put so much time into serching for a jew on plac ( especially shorebased) that it finally pays off - no matter who claims to "own" the spot. It fell partial to a nice 4" Storm Minnow of some description. Good fishing!! Riggy
  7. Good to hear from you Burnsy!! Great report mate, good to see you had a good trip. I will be heading up that way at x-mas so I will have to get together with you and pick your brain! Same old same old down hear why you were away, except a few more fish have been caught (bream & flatty). We must get out together soon. The and I are away tomorrow to Forster to stay with the 'outlaws' so hopefully I have some good posts & pics when I get back on Sunday. Talk soon mate. Cheers Riggy
  8. Jewhunter, This semi - retirement things is quite relaxing. Especially with the use of you know whos kyak!! I might as well enjoy it for a while before the gets on my back! Anyway here is your flatty from friday and my stonker bream. (BTW raiders, they were caught @ Hen & Chicken) Cheers all Riggy
  9. G'day All. Took the kyak out today on the LC river. Started around Hunters Hill and Woolich around some boats and pontoons. Not very many were caught, only a handful of just legal flatties and bream. Had a very good tussle with a nice trev. It made for a quick release when trying to net it at the side of the yak. My estimate about 35cm??? Great fight though. Moved up around the FTB for no results. When the rain set in I moved right up the river around the mangroves. The difference in water colour was amazing. The water further up was nice and murky and as the rain was coming down the wind eased. Over the next few hours I manged to land 8 good size bream, biggest being 37cm and the smallest went 32cm. There was also a few good size flatties biting, biggest coming in at 42cm. All the fish were partial to 2/3" hawgs, 3" Fry Pumpkinseed, and 1 of the bream was taken on a nice little river & sea popper. There was heaps of surface activity and a bucketload of of small baitfish around the mangroves. These signs along with the water colour and increased temp (when it arrives!!) can only make for better fishing. I fish the LC river quite a bit and the conditions are starting to look up. Lets hope!! Only got one photo as the batteries run out after it was taken!!! Spewing!!! Good luck all Riggy
  10. Fished figtree today from the yak. I fished the parra first thing for the good high @ 8.27am and pulled out 7 bream - not much size to them though (biggest went 34cm to fork). When the wind started to get up I went to the figtree right on dead low. More small bream and a few flatties. Again not much size to them but they were hungry for the SP's. I got belted by something large - but once again was to busy trying to spin the yak into the right position that I dropped the mongrel. The area should improve over the upcoming weeks. Cheers all Riggy

Clutch, Nice joke , I like it- very witty. I think I had one to many beers last night when typing. Thanks for the welcome fellas. I manage a bar in the Rocks, but I am not sure how long I am going to be there though. Kevvie - unfortunately I don't have a boat so my fishing is always shorebased. Cheers Riggy

Thanks mate I'll try again. I think the pictures I have are too large. I work in pubs, so I have to deal with all the intaxicated people - give me an office anytime. Cheers Riggy
  18. Hey all, Just joined today. Had a good SP session on LC River at Fig Tree Bridge today. Managed to nail two nice sized trevs, from fork at 49 & 51 cms (big for this area - yesterday a 48cm) as well as a medium sized bream 34cm and a handful of legal size flatty. I was actually targeting bream so these were a great by-catch. Loaded up the jew outfit, with a 5" jerk shad as there was alot of bait around- had one hook up but dropped upon landing. Least I know their there. Hope this report helps. ps - I am trying to attach a trev pic - if it doesn't work can someone let me know how to do it! Cheers Riggy
  19. Thanks for the welcome Swoffa. Hopefully we can get to plac together one day soon. I'll be in touch mate. Cheers Riggy
  20. Hey Jewnut, Hve just joined raider today. I fish that stretch @ Rosy quite a bit and have had quite a bit of succes. It has taken me a good year to nail a jew on SP's, but it was well worth the time. It can become very frustrsting, as you would know. However, the conditions can only get better for you in the upcoming warmer months. Like yourself I was questioning everything I was and wasn't doing. I know the fish are there. Hang in there mate you'll get one and when you do you will become a SP's addict like myself. Send us a PM or email if you want - maybe we can join forces!! Cheers, Riggy
