  1. Dear raiders, It's been a long time since I've posted anything and I suspect this may be my first actual report containing fish. I love my trout fishing and between 1998 till about 3 years ago, would drive 3-4 hours out of sydney on a fortnightly basis fishing various streams on the central tablelands. during that time i witnessed an unfortunate decline in quantity and quality of fish perhaps due to the drought, perhaps due to angler pressure. It got the point where it was no longer worth the 4 hour drive each way. nevertheless, decided to dust off the rod, vest, waders and backpack and give it another go just before the season closer. found a new access point to one of my favourite rivers and gave it a crack with an old mate. the fishing was promising, and rekindled the trout flame. I decided to have another go on this weekend opener. The weather forecasts were good with no preceeding rain to mud up the river. I was surprised to have the river to myself as i was expecting plenty of trout addicts looking for their fix after the long winter withdrawals. the fishing was great. started off a bit slow but as the morning went on hooked into some nice rainbows and browns. Nothing of great size but it was good to see so many fish and have chasers in almost every pool / run. Here's a few pics. All were caught on vibrax style lures. all were released. didn't keep score but i'd say i pulled around ten fish. not quite the calibre of nanooks exploits on kanangra but still a great way to spend the day (and also a lot kinder on the legs) whilst downloading these pics from my phone, i also found some pics of a session with my dad on sydney harbour (around clifton garden and middle harbour). Have been hitting the water almost weekly the last couple of months with similar results (minus the flatties). plenty of bonnies and salmon around the heads and a regular fallback option of bream and trevally if the conditions were rough. looking forward to the summer months now that a few kingy reports are coming in. denis.
  2. thanks for the reply. i take it the pipe in the bottom of the outlet is to maintain water level. how do you empty the tank after a session?
  3. Hi Geoff, the top photo looks like the back of a webster twinfisher. i have one myself and am planning to plumb my port live well. did you set yours up yourself? did you make the inlet at the bottom or use the hole near the top? more photos would be great. thanks, D
  4. fish will be starving. just imagine... 100% fish 6% territory. almost like fishing from a barrel. used to be some great rainbow trout there 10 years ago when it was over 100%... how things have changed.
  5. what was the boat you guys went out in? do you think it would be safe for a 4.9m webstre twinfisher in those waters?
